COPPER PRODUCT RANGE

•  MM Kembla is New Zealand foremost supplier of Refrigeration copper tube and fittings to the New Zealand market.

• Included in the Kembla range is copper tube manufactured to AS/NZS 1571. Tubes are available from 6.35mm (1/4”) to 104.78mm (41/8”) diameter in various wall thicknesses.

• The copper range is divided up into standard pressure and high pressure ranges (R410A) Medical Gas copper tube and fittings are also available

• The internal cleanliness of air conditioning, refrigeration and medical gas copper tube is critical in order to prevent contamination to the components in the copper piping system. MM Kembla has a unique manufacturing process and certified laboratory to confirm that the total residue does not exceed 0.038g/m2 as specified in AS/NZS1571, ASTM B280 and EN12735-1. After cleaning, all copper tubes are individually end-capped to maintain their internal cleanliness. Test Certificates are available for all copper products upon request at the time of order.

Suitable for low and high pressure refrigerants and Medical Gas

• Copper Tube wall thickness will determine which refrigerant is suitable, depending upon temperature range. Pink capped copper tube has been specifically designed, cleaned and capped to meet the requirements of R410A airconditioning and refrigeration applications. Minimum allowable copper tube wall thickness for use with R410A and other high pressure refrigerants shall be 0.81mm as per equipment manufacturer’s requirements.

• A full range of copper refrigeration fittings is available to suit Kembla copper refrigeration tube, including fittings suitable for high pressure refrigerants.

Cleaned and Capped Copper Tube

• Kembla’s seamless copper tubes are manufactured to the stringent cleanliness requirements of AS/NZS 1571.

INSTALLATION

Silver brazing

• Silver brazing shall be carried out by professional tradespersons using brazing principles and safety procedures in accordance with the methodology recommended in AS HB40.

High Pressure Refrigerants (R410A)

• Included in this range are copper products suitable for high-pressure refrigerants such a R410A , which has been selected as a replacement for R22 refrigerant that has been commonly used in light commercial and residential air-conditioning. All high pressure copper refrigerant tubes are protected with pink caps.

• R410A has a 60% higher operating pressure than R22 thus requiring a thicker wall copper tube and significantly stronger copper fittings.

• The use of 15% silver solder is recommended when brazing copper tube for use with R410A or other high pressure refrigerants with a proprietary silver brazing flux, ensuring the removal of excess flux after completing the brazed joint.

MEDICAL GAS

Kembla or K Tick branded copper fittings are manufactured in accordance with AS/ NZS 1571 standard. They are cleaned, bagged and labeled to fully comply with the requirements of both HTM2022 (Health Technical Memorandum 2002: Issue Date 1997) and the Australian Medical Gas Systems installation standard AS2896:1998. The copper fittings have labels attached, stating “Degreased Materials. For Use on Medical Gas Installations. Do not allow to come into contact with oil or grease”.

All copper pipes supplied in accordance with AS/NZS 1571 are factory cleaned, degreased and capped prior delivery and shall be protected from on-site contamination.
